The Brand Depot was founded by Catherine Baker
in 2015. Catherine's aim was to create an independent branding and packaging specialist design agency
which offered big brand and big agency experience
to small, medium and larger-sized businesses.

Catherine has over twenty years' specialised consumer branding and packaging experience. During her career she
has worked on projects launched in Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, United States and China. Her work
has been recognised in international design competitions,
such the London International Awards and Mobius Awards. She is a three times winner of the prestigious packaging design competition, The Pentawards, which sets the international benchmark for packaging design.

After graduating from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Design, Catherine worked in Auckland before moving to London and immersing herself in one of the most creative environments in the world. For ten years she was employed by award winning and top five British brand and packaging agencies, during which time she was closely involved with major international consumer goods brands such as Kraft Foods, Cadbury UK, Coca Cola, Pfizer, Heinz UK, and the world's second largest retailer, Tesco. Working in highly strategic firms, she gained valuable experience in the FMCG industry.

In 2010 Catherine returned to Auckland and took up the role of Creative Director at a well established, leading branding
and packaging agency. Clients included Griffin's, Goodman Fielder, Wrigley Asia Pacific, Red Seal and KFC NZ, Australia and USA. She moved on in early 2015 to set up her own company, The Brand Depot, to allow her to bring
her personal approach to strategic brand design in a cost
effective way. More recently Catherine relocated to New Plymouth with her family to enjoy the creative edge and outdoor lifestyle that the city has to offer. She continues to service local and remote clients as a brand and packaging creative director with a team of contract designers.
